How to Dress Like Your Favorite TV Character

Posted on October 14 2014

Fall is here- and with it, a return of our favorite TV shows! We are completely obsessed with these characters but even more so with their outfits! We put together a few looks we like to think these fictional characters would go for.

We are in love with everything Mindy Kaling, everybody's favorite imaginary best friend. The Mindy Project is the perfect pick-me-up. Will Mindy Lahiri and Danny really stay together? We sure hope so!
If Mindy were outfitted by Hey Gorgeous, that trendy girl would opt for the Faux Leather Dress by Ivy + Blu- she loves that fit and flare silhouette! This doctor is not afraid to take a chance on a pattern, she would totally wear the look-at-me Anelin Jacket by BB Dakota. Statement necklaces are a staple on the show, and the Aster Floating Gemstone Necklace by Zenzii is so up her alley.

We are constantly shocked by Scandal, but we are even more gaga over the gorgeous, clean, white, structured pieces that Olivia Pope wears! She always has an amazing statement piece. Try your own white, stand-alone piece! Like the Fitted Printed Lace Dress by Adrianna Papell, a stunning and flattering black and white piece. Or take notes on Olivia Pope's winter whites and try the gorgeous white Elsa Coat by Jessica Simpson.

White might have purity connotations, but we all know what she's really up to!

Ah unfortunately the Jess and Nick love story has come to an end, but her constant polka dots aren't leaving anytime soon! Jess from New Girl's staple outfit is a cutesy colorful skirt, top, and flats combo. But we've all rolled our eyes at that ridiculously endearing iPhone case that has bunny ears and secretly wanted to go out and get one for ourselves (until we came to our senses of course). Take a lesson from Ms. Day, do a polka dot top like the Palma Top by Cabiria. Pair it with a peplum skirt (we just know Jess has a lot of peplum in her closet), like the Sofia Peplum Skirt by MYNT 1792 that has little silver grommet things that kinda look like polka dots, just to really play up that polka dot thing. Cute patterned flats and a vintage clutch complete her look and prep her for whatever backhanded compliments Schmitt will throw her way.
